life imitating bapak
as it turned out, hub and i welcomed 4 lovely guests into our humble abode last night. sriChantique, Rid, Nadia, Ed. Nice.
ooooh i love having guests in my house.
i am a crowd pleaser lah so to speak.
i hate silence though at times that is truly a luxury i crave when the kids get rowdy and kicking up a ruckus in the hall or when mak is in one of her moods again.
after work, i managed to whip up a simple dish....really simple fried pasta ajer but an ass-burner one i think - PEDAS.. but it's not all about the food, it's about making my guests happy and as comfortable as they can get - they come happy and must leave happy too.
i learnt a lot from bapak actually.
when i was growing up, i saw the manner in which bapak entertained guests in our house.
bapak was truly an exceptional host.
i am not saying this just because the fact he is my bapak and that orang dah meninggal jadi kener cakap yang baik-baik ajer pasal almarhum.
just last monday when my elder cousin came with his family,
his wife spoke to me, "you know, i really liked your dad. i liked his demeanour and composure. tengok air muka dia tenang and relax.....though i only knew him for 2 years after my marriage but i still remembered him vividly. he is a nice man."
and that was not the 1st i have heard.
you should see my face at that time beaming with pride.
see bapak, you tell the rest i am not exaggerating - you are my hero.
to all the guests whom i have served, thank you for giving me the opportunity to imitate bapak.
any shortfall in between, those are mine only.
i can only imitate, i can never be as polished as bapak.
i miss you, so much it hurts bapak. Al Fatehah.
