lethal latte

2 nights ago his royal highness and i decided to chill out, just us together.

so we had coffee alright at coffebean and tea leaf.

he had iced blended mocha.

moi had iced vanilla latte. grave mistake.

i didn't realise that at this 'mature' age, my body could not take in caffeine like it used to.

i ended up sleepless the entire night till dawn. great.

i was already up and about during sahur, felt like i was game for 10km run gitu....wahkakakah..not!

but seriously okay, i was really, really 'awake'. even braved through human traffic at geylang wet market at 7.30am and headed to sheng siong after that to buy carbonated drinks.

mak even got herself a wall fan. *sidetrack*

reached home from all that almost at noon time.

then i went about spring cleaning - getting rid of kids' old worksheets and stuffs and shifting furnitures.

then i found myself at causeway point with hub and kids at close to 4pm - last minute shopping. we decided that kitchen would be close for the day (kesian mak esah penat) so we tapao food from banquet.

so after all that. by then which was after maghrib my body just couldn't take it anymore.......

i totally knocked out halfway thru the F1 live telecast on channel 5.

vanilla latte really did me in this time.

my new aphrodisiac? perhaps........heh.

at least now i know the next time me feeling like kakak rewang-rewang, i know what to look for.

will there be another ramadhan for me?

no need for words

most of us feel it

ramadhan come and go

very sad eh, to let ramadhan go

but life has to go on

as much as ramadhan is bidding its farewell in a matter of 4 days

celebrating syawal is indeed as important as fasting in ramadhan - victorious are those who embrace ramadhan in total submission to Allah.

be gratified, be grateful for having to meet syawal.

thus, ramadhan is leaving me for syawal.

will there be another ramadhan for me......will i ever get the chance to meet syawal?

whatever it is, THANK YOU GOD.

'Self Appraisal'

A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled it over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits (phone numbers).

The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation:

Boy:
'Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?

Woman: (at the other end of the phone line): 'I already have someone to cut my lawn.'

Boy:
'Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts your lawn now.'

Woman: I'm very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn.

Boy: (with more perseverance) : 'Lady, I'll even sweep
your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will
have the prettiest lawn in all of Palm beach, Florida.'

Woman: No, thank you.

With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The store-owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy.

Store Owner: 'Son... I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to offer you a job.'

Boy: 'No thanks,

Store Owner: But you were really pleading for one.

Boy: No Sir, I was just checking my performance at the
job I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady I was talking to!'

This is what we call 'Self Appraisal'

his rh : ader ader! tadi i got dengar lagu rayer. sebab dengar lagu tu lah i teros kol mak i

her rh : lagu aper yang?

his rh : lagu sudirman tu (and he starts singing)..ayah dan ibu....ayah dan ibu...itulah permulaan kami...dapat melihat bulan dan matahari...ahai..ayah dan ibu.......

her rh : *scratches head* tu lagu rayer ek?

his rh : yerlah...lagu rayer lah tuh....kan sudirman nyanyi

her rh : WAK LU aaaaahhhhh

his rh : ek? bukan lagu rayer ker tuh?

her rh : WAK LU ah ah aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

seriously, his royal highness did not have a clue about that song not a RAYER song....

for some of you from his royal highness's generation (kesian korang) and the cyber generation, here's the lyrics

Ayah dan ibu

Itulah permulaan kami

Dapat melihat bulan danMatahari Ahai

Yang dikurniakan dari Ilahi Ahai

Ayah dan ibu lahMesti dihormati

Ayah dan ibu

Wali dan juga keramat

Pada mereka kita beri hormat Ahai...

Bagilah tunjuk ajar dan Nasihat

Supaya hidup kita akan selamat

powerful lyrics kan....tapi ingat, ni bukan lagu rayer ek..

RAMADHAN 16

time indeed flies so quick. today marks the 16th day of ramadhan.

we are already halfway approaching syawal.

gosh, i am enjoying ramadhan very much. heir and heiress are still going on strong. both of them faithfully wake up at 5am for sahur. from what i observe, heiress eats more than heir though at times heir's sudden increasing appetite really left me astounded. he really loves pasta. i mean really, really loves pasta. last week we had spaghetti meatballs and he had 3 servings of those. the next day, he had the same dish again and half loaf of garlic bread.

it seems ramadhan is the time when i can really observe and truly understand my babies' eating patterns - their likes and dislikes. just last night izz wafa had strawberry roll in her right hand and epok-epok in her left.....i know, such gluttony! lol. and she had just 'devoured' a bowl of chicken porridge moments before. in contradiction, porridge is definitely not heir's choice for a meal. to put it simply, porridge just does not cut out for him.

so you understand now when i say i really understand my babies' yes-no-like-dislike-food during ramadhan. i wonder if there are more surprises i have yet to discover.

back to the topic of ramadhan, for the 1st time in our 9 year marriage, this is the 1st time husband and i spend ramadhan apart. since he left for bintan last thursday, breaking fast routine has been mak esah, bik jum, kiddos and moi. also, for the 1st time ever i do not break my fast outside of home. 1stly, breaking fast outside has always been my affair with the other half. 2ndly, pity the kids since their dad is not around like usual, so i need to be there for them...to give them that extra morale booster for them to continue their ramadhan duties.

summing it up, this ramadhan has been good albeit being apart from him. i am proud of heir and heiress. i tot after the 1 week school break, they would have a 'breakdown' - al maklumlah..so many temptations at school kan. but alhamdulillah, they go about doing their usual stuff, PE, playing catching and all other activities without any complain. and without fail and without much effort to stir them up from their la-la-land, they will wake up for sahur though they eat with their eyes closed but most importantly they understand sahur is crucial to start the day.

the other half will return this friday.....3 more days to go.

till then, i have a small tiny project that i want to accomplish before he returns...sort of like a surprise for him lah. to show him "you don't see me no up ah...i can do myself lor....furthermore i have one and half capable assistants. why one and a half? cos 1 is really able to provide assistance whereas the other half tu.....tolongnyer sikit, kacaonyer lebih!! eeeeeee....geraaammm....

may we breeze through the final 14days of this ramadhan with utmost humility and tawadhu'.

Ameen.

trials and tribulations of a child.....tarawwih

alhamdulillah the breaking fast session went smoothly.

heir finished off his chicken burger in a matter of minutes - record breaking time, considering he is always one who nibbles on his food.

heiress ate plain bread, 1/2 keria and vitasoy. chicken burger was left untouched.

after maghrib we made our way to block 529 jelapang road for tarawwih session. heir, together with his abah went to the muslimin section.

us, ladies made our way to the muslimah section. heiress was at 1st quite into it until after the 4th raka'at when she turned into a raka'at counter

heir : ibu, tarawwih tu yang solat non-stop eh, everyday kan ibu??

heir : ibu, just now i felt my legs like painful gitu when i stand up...feel like my bone crack like that....

heiress : ibu...dah empat kan...ibu, dah enam kan...lagi beraper eh ibu?

7 minutes later....ibu....lagi beraper ni?.....already 10 right??

lastly came witir......ibu, one oni eh..and softly she exhaled "YEH"

....lepak nampak lepak nampak......
