RAMADHAN 16

time indeed flies so quick. today marks the 16th day of ramadhan.

we are already halfway approaching syawal.

gosh, i am enjoying ramadhan very much. heir and heiress are still going on strong. both of them faithfully wake up at 5am for sahur. from what i observe, heiress eats more than heir though at times heir's sudden increasing appetite really left me astounded. he really loves pasta. i mean really, really loves pasta. last week we had spaghetti meatballs and he had 3 servings of those. the next day, he had the same dish again and half loaf of garlic bread.

it seems ramadhan is the time when i can really observe and truly understand my babies' eating patterns - their likes and dislikes. just last night izz wafa had strawberry roll in her right hand and epok-epok in her left.....i know, such gluttony! lol. and she had just 'devoured' a bowl of chicken porridge moments before. in contradiction, porridge is definitely not heir's choice for a meal. to put it simply, porridge just does not cut out for him.

so you understand now when i say i really understand my babies' yes-no-like-dislike-food during ramadhan. i wonder if there are more surprises i have yet to discover.

back to the topic of ramadhan, for the 1st time in our 9 year marriage, this is the 1st time husband and i spend ramadhan apart. since he left for bintan last thursday, breaking fast routine has been mak esah, bik jum, kiddos and moi. also, for the 1st time ever i do not break my fast outside of home. 1stly, breaking fast outside has always been my affair with the other half. 2ndly, pity the kids since their dad is not around like usual, so i need to be there for them...to give them that extra morale booster for them to continue their ramadhan duties.

summing it up, this ramadhan has been good albeit being apart from him. i am proud of heir and heiress. i tot after the 1 week school break, they would have a 'breakdown' - al maklumlah..so many temptations at school kan. but alhamdulillah, they go about doing their usual stuff, PE, playing catching and all other activities without any complain. and without fail and without much effort to stir them up from their la-la-land, they will wake up for sahur though they eat with their eyes closed but most importantly they understand sahur is crucial to start the day.

the other half will return this friday.....3 more days to go.

till then, i have a small tiny project that i want to accomplish before he returns...sort of like a surprise for him lah. to show him "you don't see me no up ah...i can do myself lor....furthermore i have one and half capable assistants. why one and a half? cos 1 is really able to provide assistance whereas the other half tu.....tolongnyer sikit, kacaonyer lebih!! eeeeeee....geraaammm....

may we breeze through the final 14days of this ramadhan with utmost humility and tawadhu'.

Ameen.
