YA ALLAH PLEASE PLACE THIS WORLD IN MY PALM, NOT IN MY HEART
thank you to my halaqah sister, mrs becki for sharing this valuable and priceless do'a
last night's halaqah have indeed drove home very questionable quuestions i have about myself
about me as a friend
not you as my friend
what kind of friend have i been
not what kind of friend have you been to me
at certain stage of my life, i admit i have been a friend who destroys,
a bad influence
destructive
those were the days of being young, jahil and da'if
astaghfirullahhal'adzim
1)do i care for my friends who care for me
2)am i worth to be a friend
3)when my friend is in dire straits, do i share her burden and troubles?
4)do i reciprocate kindness to my friend whom have helped me when i
am at my worst?
5)do i lead my friends astray
human kind is divided into these 3 proportions :
1)someone whom is like our staple diet. somebody dear, worthy and
close and who can guide you to HIS path together, hand in hand and
help you when you fall
2)someone who is like a dose of medicine whom you prescribed only
when you are ill. you only need this friend at certain times, not always.
3)someone who is a disease and has to be avoided. she brings nothing
good and will not lead you to Allah's path. stay away.
but if by God's will you meet someone of the 3rd category, you will
learn a thing or two from this someone and if you are able to get
around it unscathed and stronger, you have learnt life's most
important lesson in friendship
now i can't stop to wonder, what kind of a friend am i?
change must start from me, me, me, myself, myself, myself
in order for a friend to appreciate me, i have to learn to appreciate others
in order for a friend to find me worthy to be their friend, i have to be worthy to others

O Allah, please give me your blessings and guidance and patience
Please put this world in my palms, not in my heart
Please purify my heart from the temptations of the world and my nafs
this i beg of You O Allah
