Weekends come and go swiftly.
On Saturday hubby and I, together with his brother, sister and their respective partners went to check out the new Ikea @ Tampines.

Wow indeed. Very big warehouse, it paled in comparison with the one we usually go to @ Alexandra.
So many parking space we were spoilt for choice. Not much crowd yesterday though, to our surprise. Probably the crowd have gone to the IT Show @ Suntec City which by they way Her Royal Highness didn't have time to attend though I would really love to. His RH went to the show on Friday after work, duh. *stick out tongue*

We ventured all the sections Ikea could offer. By the time we left the check-out counter time was 6.30pm.
Hurriedly left Ikea to the nearest mosque near Ikea where we could do our solat Asar. Luckily my biras is familiar with the area so he brought us to Darul Ghufran in Tampines.
Alhamdulillah, we managed to solat Asar and Maghrib there.

Astaghfirullahhalazim. I swore I could hear my stomach growled during solat. Everyone was extremely famished.
So after Maghrib, we drove to Bedok Corner for a good meal. Astaghfirullah.
I had fried oyster cake and bbq stingray shared with sis-in-law. BBQ stingray was so sedaappp! Crispy on the outside, tender inside, generous serving of sambal slapped on top of it...divine I tell you. Fried oyster cake was just so-so.

After a hearty meal off we went to Cathay @ Causeway Point to catch a midnight show. Watched movie 300. The movie is all about war, fighting, fighting, fighting, war, fighting and more fighting. Even at the ending of the movie they are still at war with each other - the Spartans vs the Persians.

Show ended at about 2.15am. Sent sis-in-law and hubby back home at Hougang. Finally we reached home at close to 3a.m.

And that was how my Saturday went. Not perfect but nice.

Sunday turned out to be a modest one. Besides the weekly visit to Yishun for my class, we attended a wedding invitation of our relative at Bedok Reservoir. Had a good meal of Briyani with some Malay kuehs. Too bad I didn't get my berkat. The kendarat forgot about me. Mak, Kak Su and Abg Ngah got their. Even my kids got their kiddy's goodie bag. But hey, I'm okay with it. Not my rezeki.

Earlier before Maghrib Bibik took the kids out to the night market near our block. She treated Heir & heiress to a ramly burger for The Heir and popcorn for the Heiress and a pack of mi goreng we shared together with Mak. Got for herself a pair of pyjamas too. Thanks Bibik for the mi goreng though I could taste the abundance of salt in it...i reckon the cook must have got free lifetime supply of table salt.

I just watched re-run of 3rd episode of latest season Amazing Race on cable. I must say Rob & Amber really make a great team. This couple who got married sometime last year aced in almost everything they undertake together. From my observation, the recipe for their success is balance. While Rob is witty, cunning and goal-driven, his partner Amber is level-headed, composed. They don't bicker, work together in completing their tasks and many times they finished 1st in the weekly race.
This just proves that bickering simply doesn't bring a couple anywhere. Worse, fights are disruptive and drains one out emotionally.
I can never say this enough for I still do face this problem at times in my own marriage - COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE. Effective communication takes practise and skills. To get the skills, practise.

Okay, enough for today. On the last note, after CSI, kids and I are walking to MacDonald's for supper. Tell me, when will I ever shed the kilos like this??!! Haha.

(Psst, hey is that Britney Spear's ex what-his-name I'm seeing on CSI...that Kevin sommething something?)
