The Heir made me proud yesterday. So did The Heiress. You see, there is always a silver lining behind every clouded sky, truly there is.
While I was barely coping with my own back issue, The Heir returned home from school and with a smile so wide it could cover all the way from nearby Sheng Siong to Bukit Panjang Plaza *lol*.

He handed to me his Term 1 English test paper result. I tell you, if his smile could cover Sheng Siong to the plaza, mine could definitely cover that distance and back again effortlessly. He scored a full distinction for his English paper which included mcqs', fill-in-the-blanks, written and listening comprehension. I said, "Alhamdulillah, see you can do it Izz Afiq. Must pay attention in class, everytime before start belajar Afiq doa rabbi ziddni 'ilman warzuqni fahman. Insyaallah Tuhan tolong Afiq, jadikan Afiq budak pandai". He later talked to his Abah on the phone, telling his father the piece of good news. Of course, his Abah was exhilarated.

Syabas Izz Afiq. Marha! Marha!

Next came along The Heiress. By now she had already developed a bit of a green eye, typical being the younger sibling. She interrupted "Ibu look, I can run very fast you know, Ibu look!" and she sprinted around the living hall, almost knocking me down in the process. Then she did her school work and I could see she distinctively recognises her alphabets better than before. I hope the English Kumon and phonics we put her through will pay off.

Oh and another one that left me in giggles. Maghrib came, The Heir came to me and said "Ibu dah maghrib lah, mari solat." I informed him and explained the reasons why I couldn't perform prayers for the time being.

Haiz, once a child, always a child. Innocent being, never tire of asking questions to feed their inquisitive minds.
Then I heard him telling his sister, "Ibu tak boleh pray lah Wafa, kalau Ibu ada darah Ibu tak boleh pray. Nanti Wafa dah besar pun samer macam Ibu tao. "
The Heiress's reply, "Eeeeeeeeeeeee!! Wafa tak suka darah tao, kalau darah nanti Wafa nak dekat pening tao! Nanti sakit aaaah, boleh mati".
The Heir, "Ibu tak mati laaaaahhhh!!! Ibu sakit sekejap ajer."

And they both prayed with their Grandma afterwards.
